We've launched our Supervisor Responsibilities course in Mandarin to help ensure that essential education is accessible to the wider NSW building and construction industry.
The Construct NSW course supports supervisors in the NSW building and construction industry to recognise and define adequate supervision and its relationship with legal obligations. It is the first course to be offered in Mandarin.
Supervision of workers and apprentices is a compliance focus of Building Commission NSW inspectors. We recently announced targeted compliance campaign for plumbing supervision from June this year.
The Supervisor Responsibilities course covers many aspects of supervision in construction, including:
- The multiple pieces of legislation that govern supervision requirements in NSW.
- How to monitor and assess workplace practices of supervised workers to ensure quality standards and legislation requirements are met.
- Mentoring and coaching of supervised workers; and adjusting levels of supervision to individual competence levels.
Anyone who has a role or responsibility for supervision in the construction industry is encouraged to undertake this course. This includes business owners, managers, superintendents, foremen, department heads or trainers.
Additional languages and course translations of Construct NSW courses are currently in development.
