Signed - December 2016
Renewed - June 2020
In late 2016, the NSW Government refreshed overarching cross-border arrangements with the ACT, and the NSW Premier and ACT Chief Minister signed the ACT–NSW Memorandum of Understanding for Regional Collaboration 2016–19.
When the initial agreement expired, a revised ACT-NSW Memorandum of Understanding for Regional Collaboration was signed by the NSW Premier and the ACT Chief Minister, Andrew Barr, in June 2020.
The Priority Focus Area Plans outlines the focus of the agreement between the two jurisdictions.
The new agreement established an annual senior official’s dialogue on regional collaboration, supported by a progress report on activity against milestones, and highlighting issues and area of concern.
The agreement requires that ongoing cross-border actions that fall outside of the priority focus areas will be articulated in a table of on-going cross-border actions.
