Our role
The Department of Regional NSW is the central NSW Government agency for regional NSW. We collaborate with communities, businesses and government.
We’ve brought together the agencies responsible for:
- public works and regional development
- soil conservation and primary industries
- land use and natural resources
- regional infrastructure and program grants
- investment attraction.
Together, we work to:
- build stronger primary industries
- drive regional investment and economic development
- oversee productive and sustainable land use and natural resources
- deliver regional infrastructure and grant programs
- help strengthen social cohesion.
Home to about 40 per cent of the state’s population, regional NSW includes coastal, inland, rural, remote and metro regional areas.
To service these diverse regions, we have several offices and agencies.
We have a skilled and dedicated team working in 200 locations across regional NSW.
