Have your say on name of a new suburb in the Liverpool and Penrith LGAs for the Western Sydney International Airport
The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on a suburb naming proposal from Western Sydney Airport Co.
Establishing the new suburb allows the airport precinct to be located within a single suburb, improving service delivery and public wayfinding. The proposed suburb is bounded by Elizabeth Drive, The Northern Road and the Badgerys Creek Environmental Conservation Zone, with the recently created suburb of Bradfield to its south. The new suburb will see amendments to the suburb boundaries for Badgerys Creek, Bringelly, Luddenham and Greendale.
The name proposed by Western Sydney Airport Co, Cabrogal, aims to respectfully recognise the Cabrogal people of the broader Dharug language group. Located within the Cumberland Plains, the clan is also connected with surrounding Aboriginal language groups including the Gangangara to the west and the Dharawal to the southwest.

Quotes to be attributed to NSW Surveyor-General Narelle Underwood:
"Names are not just labels; they tell the stories of their community, and it is important that they reflect the character and history of the local area."
"Community consultation on the proposed name is an important step to make sure everyone has a opportunity to provide their feedback and ensures that each voice has a chance to contribute."
