Learn how to spot animal tracks, scats, and habitats on your land! Set up a loaned trail camera to capture and identify the wildlife sharing your property.
Event details:
Join Greater Sydney Local Land Services for an engaging and practical event where you'll gain valuable skills and insights from Local Land Services professionals across the Natural Resource Management, Biosecurity, and Natural Capital teams.
This workshop is designed to empower landholders with the tools and knowledge to better understand and monitor the biodiversity on their properties.
You will:
Learn how to identify habitat types and assess their ecological value.
Use online tools to research local species and discover what might be living on your land.
Explore how to identify animal traces and evidence.
Experience a hands-on session: setting up and positioning monitoring cameras for different target species.
Explore the benefits, values and challenges different animals bring to your property and its management.
Learn about nature positive management to encourage beneficial wildlife and manage the pests on your property.
Importat
Each participating landholder will receive a loan trail camera to monitor their property for 2-3 weeks.
Participants are able to use their own camera if they have one available.
All participating landholders will need to attend a second session in early 2026 for a deeper dive into what you have discovered about your property and what support is available to help you manage your patch.

Finger food and drinks will be provided.
This event will partially be held outdoors, please ensure your wear study footwear.
