Strengthening national collaboration with AGAC
NSW Trustee and Guardian (NSWTG) and the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) proudly hosted the Australian Guardianship and Administration Council (AGAC) event.

Last week, NSW Trustee and Guardian (NSWTG) and the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) proudly hosted the Australian Guardianship and Administration Council (AGAC) event, welcoming Public Trustees, Guardians, Advocates and Tribunal members from across Australia and New Zealand.
Held over three days, the event provided a valuable opportunity for participants to collaborate on guardianship and administration priorities, share insights, and strengthen connections across jurisdictions. On the final day, all streams came together to reflect on the priority work, including a key focus on the impact of legislative reforms in the aged care and disability service systems.
In opening this final session, NSW Attorney General, the Hon Michael Daley MP, reflected on the rapidly changing landscape for guardianship and administration functions and thanked attendees for their dedication and ongoing contributions in safeguarding the welfare and interests of those who rely on their services.
NSWTG and NCAT were honoured to facilitate this important dialogue, supporting consistent and informed approaches to guardianship and administration across Australia and New Zealand.

The Australian Guardianship and Administration Council has developed You Decide Who Decides, a guide about important things to consider before making an enduring power for financial decisions.
This national publication, developed by Australian Guardianship and Administration Council (AGAC), provides information and guidance on why it is important to have an Enduring Power of Attorney (as it is referred to in NSW), how to make one, what you need to consider when creating one and why it’s important to ensure your Enduring Power of Attorney is kept up to date as your circumstances change.
