Shared Mobility Management Platform
The Shared Mobility Management Platform (SMMP) collects and displays data from shared e-bike operators across NSW.
Transport for NSW (Transport), councils and land managers use the platform to manage and regulate shared e-bike services.
It supports NSW shared mobility regulations and shows where and how shared e-bikes are being used across the state.
About the platform
The Shared Mobility Management Platform helps Transport, councils, land managers and operators manage shared mobility services. It brings data together in one place to help them monitor services, plan ahead and make decisions.
It can be used to:
- review demand for shared mobility services
- identify opportunities for parking locations
- monitor fleet use and distribution
- understand travel patterns and customer behaviour
- create and manage operating conditions
- support compliance, reporting and scheme evaluation.
The SMMP helps manage, monitor and regulate shared e-bike services across NSW.
The platform aims to:
- improve visibility of shared mobility activity across NSW
- support planning and decision-making
- improve fleet and parking management
- improve monitoring and compliance
- support safer shared mobility services
- improve collaboration between Transport, councils, land managers and operators.
Approved operators must provide shared mobility scheme data in line with the NSW Micromobility Data Implementation Specification (PDF 804.82KB). They submit this data through the SMMP and other approved Transport data platforms.
The SMMP can:
- collect and process trip data
- show service information through dashboards and reports
- check data quality and accuracy
- support monitoring and compliance
- share operator conditions and network requirements.
Transport, councils and land managers can set conditions for shared mobility operators. These conditions help keep services safe and running well.
Conditions may include:
- designated parking areas
- no-parking zones
- no-go zones
- slow-speed zones
- other location-specific operating requirements.
The platform helps Transport, councils and land managers create, manage and share conditions with operators. It also helps them check that operators follow these conditions.
Access to the platform
As operators are approved, Transport will onboard them to the platform, so data on their fleets is available to view. As authorities authorise operators, Transport will onboard them to the platform, providing user-based access, training and support.
