Public Consultation on Surplus Parramatta Light Rail Land
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has advised its intention to dispose of three parcels of land in North Parramatta, following the completion of the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 project.
As part of the project’s Planning Approval, the future use of any residual land will be determined in consultation with City of Parramatta Council (CoPC) and the community.
The land parcels are:
- 2A Factory Street (Lot 1/DP1249475)
- 579 Church Street (Lot 1/DP1279650)
- 1, 3, and 5 Barney Street (Lots 1, 2, and 3/DP1279821)
These sites were previously acquired to support the construction and delivery of the light rail network but have now been deemed surplus to operational needs.
TfNSW is inviting the community to submit written feedback regarding the proposed land disposal. Residents, stakeholders, and interested parties are encouraged to share any concerns or comments they believe should be considered.
Submissions can be sent via email to parramattalightrail@transport.nsw.gov.au
The consultation period will run from 23 September2025 to 10 October 2025.
The NSW Government is exploring options for the future use of the reminder of the land at 387 Church Street, Parramatta (former Royal Oak Hotel site), which includes the heritage listed Cobb and Co Stables.
