Career program for high school students in years 9-12.
About the program
The See Yourself in Cyber program was launched in 2023. The program was expanded in 2025 and has engaged with schools and students in Western Sydney, Armidale, and Griffith, achieving a very high satisfaction rating.
NSW Department of Education high schools participate in the cyber career program to inform students and career advisors about pathways into cyber security.
Students can learn about cyber security skills and techniques, including:
- coding
- cryptography
- OSINT

How can I prepare?
- Complete the Introduction to Cyber Security microskill from TAFE (3 hours)
- Watch the video below to learn about skills and required pathways.
Continue to learn
- Complete the Cyber Security Specialist virtual work experience (45 mins)
- Complete the Security Operations Centre (SOC) training from Microsoft (3 hours).
