New syllabuses to be implemented from 2026:
- Mathematics Standard 11–12 Syllabus (2024)
- Mathematics Advanced 11–12 Syllabus (2024)
- Mathematics Extension 1 11–12 Syllabus (2024)
- Mathematics Extension 2 11–12 Syllabus (2024)
- Mathematics Life Skills 11–12 Syllabus (2024)
2025
- Plan and prepare to teach the new syllabuses.
2026, Term 1
- Start teaching new syllabuses for Year 11
- Start implementing new Year 11 school-based assessment requirements
- Continue to teach for Year 12:
2026, Term 4
- Start teaching new syllabuses for Year 12
- Start implementing new Year 12 school-based assessment requirements.
2027
- First HSC examination for new Mathematics 11–12 syllabuses:

Key features
- The NSW Government has delivered new Mathematics syllabuses for Years 11 and 12 as part of the NSW Curriculum Reform program.
- The new Mathematics 11–12 syllabuses build on the new Kindergarten to Year 10 Mathematics syllabuses being taught in NSW schools.
- The new syllabuses clearly outline essential learning, giving every student the opportunity to maximise their potential in Mathematics.
- More clearly defined content and outcomes across the new Mathematics syllabuses will streamline teacher planning and allow students to better access rich learning opportunities.
