HSC Showcase selections

Nominated major works or projects go through a comprehensive selection process to decide what nominated works are chosen to feature in an HSC showcase.

NESA is responsible for the selection of works for OnSTAGE, ENCORE, Young Writers, and SHAPE. 

In collaboration with the NSW Department of Education, NESA supports the selections for CALLBACK.

Selections for ARTEXPRESS are also made in collaboration with NESA and the NSW Department of Education, as well as curators across various galleries.

NESA and our partners select works from those nominated during the HSC marking process. 

Not all nominated works can be selected for a Showcase program. Curatorial decisions influence selections. There are limits to the number of performances or works that can be included.

To ensure a comprehensive Showcase Season offering, NESA considers HSC works that reflect a range of topics, styles, and forms from our NSW syllabuses.

Selected works aim to reflect our diverse student population from all school sectors and across metro, regional and remote areas.

If a student’s work is selected for an HSC showcase, the student will be notified by email. See the Showcase selection timeline.

Principals also receive a notification to the nominated email address recorded in Schools Online.
