New Computing Technologies 7–12 syllabuses have been released on the Digital Curriculum:
- Computing Technology 7–10
- Enterprise Computing 11–12
- Software Engineering 11–12
- Computing Technology Life Skills 11–12
Schools can plan and prepare to teach the new syllabuses in 2023. The new syllabuses will be taught in NSW schools from 2024. Students will sit for online HSC exams for Enterprise Computing and Software Engineering from 2025.
Key features:
- Includes new contemporary content and examples to prepare students for the modern digital, connected world.
- Students have more opportunities to learn through projects by applying knowledge and skills using real-world examples.
- Prepares students for future employment and study opportunities.
- Includes a greater focus on cyber safety and cyber security.
- A clearer progression of learning and pathway from Computing Technology 7–10 into the updated 11–12 courses.
Schools will have access to support materials including teaching advice on the Digital Curriculum website to assist with implementation. More resources will be made available over time as well as online, accredited professional development on NESA’s online learning hub.
NESA will work with the school sectors and individual schools to prepare for HSC online exams and ensure that all students have suitable equipment.
Course specifications for Software Engineering and Enterprise Computing will be available in December 2022.
