The Tourism, Travel and Events Curriculum Framework Stage 6 Syllabus has been updated following the release of version 3 of the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package.
The updated syllabus includes a code change for the Certificate III in Tourism qualification (SIT30125) and minor changes to examinable HSC Content. The first HSC exam based on the updated syllabus will be in 2027.
The Tourism, Travel and Events record of changes provides further detail and a summary of changes.
Students completing in 2026 the Tourism, Travel and Events 240-hour course they commenced in 2025, and students who want to undertake the Tourism, Travel and Events 240- hour course in one year in 2026, will complete the course as outlined in the ‘old’ syllabus but can access the new SIT30125 qualification.
Any student wanting to sit the 2026 HSC exam must complete the 240-hour course from the ‘old’ syllabus.
Schools should consult with their school system/sector and/or registered training organisation (RTO) regarding delivery of courses from this Framework for all Tourism, Travel and Events students in 2026.
