A reduced load limit on Hampden Bridge has been introduced, effective from Friday 27 June 2025.

Heavy vehicles over 23 tonnes are restricted from using the bridge and will need to plan a suitable detour.

All other vehicles will not be affected and can continue to use the bridge.

Emergency services vehicles over 23 tonnes will still be able to use the bridge at all times.

Heavy Vehicle operators of Class 1,2, and 3 vehicles travelling under notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable and approved detour route.

Changes to traffic conditions will be in place on the Sydney Harbour Bridge at various times while the bridge and other infrastructure are being upgraded and maintained. These changes include a combination of lane closures and speed reductions.

At least one lane will be maintained in each direction during work hours.

Access to Cahill Exp over Circular Quay southbound may not be available at times. Motorists can detour via the city using Grosvenor St, Bridge St, and Macquarie St for access to the Eastern Suburbs and airport.
