Find out if your child’s school is closed due to an emergency, plus information to support remote learning.
NSW public and independent schools
To find out if your child’s school is closed due to flooding, bushfires or other extreme weather events, visit the Department of Education website.
Up-to-date information on public schools that have closed is also available via the NSW Education Parent app.
NSW Catholic schools
To find out if your child’s Catholic school is closed due to an emergency, visit the Catholic Schools NSW website.
Vocational education and training
Secondary students whose VET classes are affected may be able to access remote learning.
School-based apprentices and trainees can find information through Skills NSW.
Visit TAFE NSW to find out if your campus is closed.
Early childhood education services
If you have questions about an early childhood education service, contact the Early Childhood Education Directorate. You can call via 1800 619 113 from 9am to 5pm, or email ececd@det.nsw.edu.au

Learning remotely
The Department of Education has materials to support parents and carers while students are learning remotely.
Digital Learning Packs are available with timetabled activities for the early years up to Year 10 students. Parents and carers can work through them with their child when instructed by their school.
