The NSW Spatial Digital Twin is a digital ecosystem consisting of platforms together with spatial data, tools and services to create a digital model of NSW in near real-time.

What is the Spatial Digital Twin? 

The Spatial Digital Twin (SDT) is a data and visualisation environment. The SDT consists of rich, interactive models which combine with authoritative data to build a 4D - 3D plus near real-time representation of the real world.

By integrating spatial data, internet of things sensors and analytical tools, these dynamic models help users create digital twins to:

  • monitor assets
  • simulate scenarios 
  • make data-driven decisions.

By visualising and sharing cross-agency information, we can avoid data duplication and drive more efficient and effective government decision-making and address some of the state's biggest challenges, including a lack of common spatial data.
