NSW Spatial Digital Twin Ecosystem
The Spatial Digital Twin ecosystem is a suite of tools which use data to visualise NSW in near real-time. The ecosystem supports better and more collaborative decision making.
What is the NSW Spatial Digital Twin ecosystem?
The Spatial Digital Twin (SDT) ecosystem is a connected set of platforms, data and services that work together to deliver a shared view of NSW.
The SDT brings together authoritative:
- spatial data
- tools
- infrastructure.
It can be used across government, industry and the community for:
- collaboration
- analysis
- decision‑making.
At its core, the ecosystem is powered by the :
- Spatial Collaboration Portal which stores and manages spatial data from over 1,000 datasets from across agencies
- SDT Explorer, a free, easy-to-use tool, which enables 3D and 4D visualisation, location intelligence and scenario modelling to display spatial data and provide powerful graphical representation of datasets.
To ensure data is accurate and usable, the Spatial Digital Twin Policy Framework sets out the rules for submitting and using data on the Portal.
Spatial Digital Twin Explorer
The Spatial Digital Twin Explorer is an easy-to-use online tool that enables you to browse spatial data and view the results in a rich, interactive map. Experienced users can create their own models, run analysis and generate reports.
NSW Spatial Collaboration Portal
The NSW Spatial Collaboration Portal gives everyone the ability to search and discover spatial datasets. The Portal also allows local, state and federal agencies to deliver spatial data, asset management and visualisation services securely.
NSW Spatial Digital Twin
Much more than a regular digital map, the Spatial Digital Twin uses data to model complex infrastructure and environments in 4D (3D plus near real time) representation of the real world.
The Spatial Digital Twin uses actual building locations, real infrastructure and genuine property boundaries for a cross-sector shared source of truth.
NSW Spatial Digital Twin Policy Framework
The Policy Framework sets out clear rules about management and governance of the data on the NSW Spatial Digital Twin, the Explorer and the Portal. The Framework helps agencies share their data in the most efficient and usable way.
