Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART)
What’s this about?
The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is reviewing Hunter Water’s 2022-2027 operating licence before it expires on 30 June 2027.
The licence sets the terms and conditions that Hunter Water must follow when providing water, wastewater and stormwater services to its customers across the Lower Hunter region. The licence requirements aim to protect customers, public health, the environment and service quality.
As part of the review, IPART will consider if the licence continues to work as intended, and understand if any changes are needed to reflect issues that have emerged since the licence was granted.
We have prepared an issues paper that includes 20 questions to help you prepare your response to the paper.
