The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking feedback on an application made for biodiversity certification of land at Lot 1 DP 168258 and Lot B DP 410707, 129 The Ridgeway and 231 Macdonalds Road, Lisarow 2250. The application is open for public comment until 18 September 2026.
Biodiversity certification addresses the potential effects of land use change on biodiversity during the early planning stage. The certification process identifies areas that can be developed after certification and measures to offset the impacts of development.
This application relates to 33.31 hectares of land within Lot 1 DP 168258 and Lot B DP 410707, 129 The Ridgeway and 231 Macdonalds Road, Lisarow 2250. The site totals 33.31 hectares, of which 15.88 hectares is proposed for certification and residential subdivision, and 17.33 hectares is proposed to be avoided for conservation. Land proposed for certification comprises 15.46 hectares of native vegetation of which 8.95 hectares is considered low quality (Vegetation Integrity Score <15) while land proposed for avoidance contains 17.33 hectares of predominantly high-quality native vegetation which will be protected and managed in perpetuity.
The site is currently zoned C2: Environmental Conservation and C3: Environmental Management under the Central Coast Local Environmental Plan 2022 and is proposed to be rezoned to C4: Environmental Living and C2: Environmental Conservation.
As part of the biodiversity certification process, the applicant must make the application available and invite the public to make submissions on the application.
