Benefits

The project will:

• Provide expanded and contemporary acute medical and surgery bed capacity for Blacktown and Mount Druitt hospitals.
• Boost medical bed capacity at Mount Druitt Hospital, reducing the need to transfer patients from Mount Druitt Emergency Department (ED) to Blacktown ED.

Scope

The project includes:

• 60 additional beds across Blacktown and Mount Druitt hospitals.
• 30 beds at Mount Druitt to support acute medical and surgical short stay.
• 30 beds at Blacktown to support acute surgical and surgical short stay.
• Expanded clinical and non-clinical support service spaces.
