Using one-time passcodes and resetting your password
Verifying your one-time passcode
If you enter an incorrect one-time passcode (OTP), a message will appear on the screen:
'You have made 1 invalid attempt. If you exceed 5 attempts, your user account will be locked. Please try again.'
Check your email
Check that you’ve entered the one-time passcode exactly as shown in your email.
Resend the one-time passcode
If you still see the error message, select the resend code option to request a new code.
Enter the new one-time passcode within 10 minutes of receiving it
Enter the one-step passcode carefully. After five invalid attempts, your account will be locked for security reasons.
If your account is locked, contact us for support.

Resetting your password
If you have forgotten your password and you're unable to log in, you can reset your password from the login page.
On the login page, select the forgot password option

Enter your licence number and select the reset password button

Check your email
An email will be sent to your registered email address with instructions to reset your password.
The reset email will only be sent to the email address you used to register for BCNSW eCert.
Check your spam or junk folder if the email does not appear in your inbox.
Password requirements
Your password must:
- Be a minimum of 10 characters in length.
- Not contain your account name or parts of your full name.
- Contain three (3) out the following four (4) categories for complexity:
- at least one number (0-9)
- at least one uppercase character (A-Z).
- at least one lowercase character (a-z).
- at least one special character (for example: !@#$%^^&*()-=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/).
