Program specifications and protocols
We’ve streamlined the key resources and guidelines to help you deliver high-quality, consistent services under the Specialist Homelessness Services program.
Homelessness Service contracts
Our contracts outline the terms and conditions for Homes NSW funding. These are built on standard documents under the Human Services Agreement. They align with the Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) Program Specifications and services must be delivered to these specifications.
SHS Program specifications
The SHS Program Specifications:
- Define the purpose of the program and proper use of funding.
- Help you plan, deliver, and report on performance and quality.
- Ensure clients receive consistent, high-quality services across the homelessness system.
Specialist Homelessness Services Case Management Kit
Case management is essential for working with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, especially those with complex needs.
The SHS Case Management Resource Kit will be updated soon.
Policy for delivery of services to unaccompanied children 12 to 15 years
We’ve developed a policy to guide services for children facing homelessness. This policy:
- Outlines roles and responsibilities for providers and Homes NSW based on the child’s age and legal status.
- Improves service integration across the homelessness and youth assistance sectors.
Review the Policy for Delivery of Services to Unaccompanied Children 12–15 Years and the Policy Review Information Sheet to understand key updates and expectations.
Client consent and information sharing
The Specialist Homelessness Services Client Consent, Information Sharing and Referral Protocol ensures consistent, effective practices. It:
- Guides client consent for sharing personal information.
- Promotes seamless referrals to improve service delivery.
A client can complete the Specialist Homelessness Service Client Consent Form to allow their personal details to be shared.
