Project overview
New ambulance stations will be built to provide local paramedics with modern, fit-for-purpose infrastructure to better meet the emergency medical care needs of communities across NSW. The NSW Government has committed $615.5 million to the NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program.
Benefits
The program will:
- improve geographic coverage and optimise paramedic response times
- deliver contemporary working environments for paramedics and improve workforce sustainability
- better meet the current and future demand for emergency medical care.
Scope
Health Infrastructure is working with NSW Ambulance and other key stakeholders across government to identify potential sites for new ambulance stations. Stations are located at places which optimise ambulance response times and meet the future health needs of the community.
Sites to deliver new ambulance stations have been announced at:
- North Sydney
- South Windsor
- Oran Park
- Berowra
- Prestons
- Moss Vale
- Bargo
- Lisarow
- Glendenning
- Caves Beach
- Carlingford
- Macquarie Park
- Unanderra
- Warilla
- Narrabeen
- North Rothbury
- Gateshead.
Status
Planning is underway for all locations. Construction timeframes will be determined once planning is progressed. The community will continue to be updated as the program progresses.
Expressions of Interest have been sought for suitable sites to build new ambulance stations as part of the Program. New stations are located at places which optimise ambulance response times and meet the future health needs of the community.
All sites nominated will undergo a thorough evaluation to ensure they meet the needs of the community and NSW Ambulance. Health Infrastructure is leading delivery of the Program in partnership with NSW Ambulance.

An artist’s impression of the new ambulance station at Lisarow has been unveiled, showcasing the purpose-built station set to enhance emergency and mobile medical care across the Central Coast.

Narrabeen Ambulance Station redevelopment confirmed
The Northern Beaches community will benefit from a new ambulance station, with the current Narrabeen Ambulance Station set to be replaced on its existing site.
