Getting started – register for access
1. Sign-up for the online portal
Access the portal by selecting NSW Building Certifiers’ Portal.
You will be taken to a login page where you can sign-up to register for access to the online portal. Click the ‘sign-up’ button to register for access.
The following image is an example of what will be displayed.

2. Enter your details and register for access
The register for access page will be displayed after clicking the ‘sign-up’ button. Enter your email address and click submit.

3. Confirm your identity by email
You will receive an email asking you to confirm your identity.
Click the ‘confirm’ button in your email. This will then take you back to the registration page where you’ll be asked to enter your email address and create a password.
Please note that the confirmation link in the email will expire after 48 hours.

4. Current or previous registration
Please ensure you select the correct option for the question “Do you have a current or previous NSW Registration/Accreditation Number?”
There are two responses to choose from:
- yes, I have a current or previous registration/accreditation number
- no, I do not have a registration number and I am a first-time user.
Selecting the incorrect option will delay your access to the portal.
Unfortunately, there is no quick fix in the system for incorrect registration selections.
Selecting the yes option
Enter your registration number and date of birth after selecting yes. You must ensure you enter the correct registration number that starts with the letters BDC or RBC.

Selecting the no option
Select no if you do not have a registration or accreditation number and you are a first-time user.

5. Create a password and choose a security question
You will be asked to create a password. You will also need to choose a security question and provide the answers. Once you have completed this, click confirm.

6. Existing or previous registration
(New users, please skip to step 7)
For existing and previous NSW registered building certifiers, you will be directed to the landing page of the building certifiers’ portal.
Your registration details will not pre-populate immediately. The Certifier Registration Team will need to finalise your access for activation and enable you to view them.
Please allow one business day for this to occur. You will receive an email once your access has been granted.

7. New user access
New users will be taken to the online portal landing page.
With access to the portal and your details available, you can now select an application from the ‘new application/form’ drop-down box. This is where you will progress and complete your application for registration.

Full portal access will be provided if your registration is granted. This access will allow you to manage your registration and any future applications.
You will receive an email confirming your registration has been granted and that you have full access to the portal.
