Visy Board Pty Limited (Visy) has been fined $375,000 in the NSW District Court after an employee sustained crush injuries to his left ankle following a workplace incident where the ruling found therisk of injury was “patently obvious”.

WorkSafe Victoria and SafeWork NSW are teaming up to help the construction industry in Albury and Wodonga reduce workplace hazards as part of the Cross Border program.

On 11 March 2024, the District Court of NSW convicted and fined a residential care provider $300,000 for breaching its work, health and safety obligations and as a result of exposing workers to a risk of violence, including inappropriate sexual behaviour, in the workplace.

Almost $1 million in fines have been issued at the halfway point of SafeWork NSW’s 12-month blitz on falls from heights.
