Meet the Valuer General
Sally Dale was appointed Valuer General of NSW by the Lieutenant-Governor and will serve until 31 May 2028. She is the first woman to hold the role since it was established more than 100 years ago.
Ms Dale began her career in 1994 with a Bachelor of Business in Land Economics from Western Sydney University. With over 30 years of experience in property valuation, Ms Dale has worked as a valuer, business owner and executive. Before her appointment, she was acting executive director of land valuation agency Value NSW.
Ms Dale is recognised for her leadership and ability to lead major organisational change across both the public and private sectors. Ms Dale is also a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute and, in 2024, was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Western Sydney University for her contribution to property economics.
The Valuer General oversees the state's land valuation system, which values more than 2.7 million parcels of land each year, with a total value of over $3 trillion. These land values are used by local councils in setting rates and the NSW Government to assess land tax.
