Blayney Multipurpose Service Program Redevelopment works notification - Stage 1 works and impacts
Stage 1 works and impacts from Monday 25 November 2024.
About the works
Health Infrastructure is redeveloping the Blayney Multipurpose Service (MPS) to deliver high-quality health and aged care services closer to home. The modern facility will continue to meet local healthcare needs for years to come.
Health Infrastructure has engaged Taylor Construction to complete the work in stages. Stage 1A, which includes ambulance connection road works, is nearly finished.
Stage 1, which involves building the new Residential Aged Care wing and Inpatient Unit, will start on 25 November. This work includes:
- disconnecting services (no impact on the MPS)
- installing site fencing
- installing a glass door in the MPS courtyard, which will be locked with no access
- installing a fence gate between the site and Lee Hostel, which will be locked with no access
- locking the exterior door to and from the staff lunchroom, with no access
- changing the emergency exit from the main corridor of the MPS to a left exit into the emergency carport. The exit sign will be adjusted to reflect this change
- delivering building materials regularly.
A material storage area will be set up on the Osman Street side of the site from Wednesday, 27 November 2024, until the redevelopment is complete. This area will be used for cut and fill materials, with work to include:
- installing fencing and shade cloth around the stockpile site and truck access area
- placing water barriers in 2 car spaces on Osman Street to keep the truck path clear
- removing one tree and trimming lower branches on another
- regularly using excavators in this area.
A Traffic Management Plan will be in place to ensure trucks can move safely while loading materials in the area. The footpath will remain open at all times.
Please refer to the map on the next page for the location and details of the Stage 1 works.
Work will take place from 7am to 5pm, 25 November 2024 to 19 September 2025, in line with planning approvals. We will notify you in advance of any changes to these dates or times.

How the work will affect you
We understand that construction can be disruptive for staff, residents, patients, nearby businesses, and road users. Keeping the local community safe and healthy is our top priority.
We will work to minimise noise, dust, and vibration as much as possible. Access points will be monitored and managed throughout construction. When needed, short-term traffic control and speed limit reductions will be in place.
For your safety, please follow the directions of traffic controllers at all times.
Holiday period site closure
The work site will close for the holiday period from 5pm on Friday, 19 December 2024, to 7am on Monday, 6 January 2025.
No work will take place during this time.
Thank you for your patience as work has progressed on the Blayney MPS Redevelopment. We wish you a happy and safe holiday season.
Keeping you informed
We will continue to keep staff, residents, patients, visitors, neighbours, and the community informed about construction work and any impacts. Updates will be shared through Works Notices, Project Updates, social media posts, flyers, posters, and our project page where appropriate.
