Nepean Redevelopment Project Zone update June 2025
Summary of the latest Nepean Hospital Redevelopment construction activities in June 2025.
This month, the Nepean Redevelopment team hosted a pop-up stand in the hospital to chat with staff and the community about the redevelopment, Nepean Hospital’s General Manager Brad Ceely is taken on a tour of the Stage 2 site, and we provide an update on the general construction progress for Stage 2 and the new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services unit.
New Stage 2 building reaches Level 5
The concrete structure of the new Stage 2 building has now climbed to Level 5.
When complete, the Stage 2 building will feature a welcoming main entry, a new medical imaging department, intensive care unit, in-centre renal dialysis unit and a paediatric inpatient unit. The new building will seamlessly connect to the Building A tower and Building D, across several floors, to improve access for patients, visitors and staff.
To bring the new facility to life, more than 14,000m3 of concrete will be poured—enough to fill five Olympic-sized swimming pools.
Internally, the builders have started removing the formwork, and installing internal services such as mechanical, electric and hydraulics.
Works are also progressing on the loading dock with concrete footings being poured.
Nepean redevelopment team chat with the community
Last week, Nepean redevelopment staff members set up a stand in the hospital corridor to chat with local community members and staff. It was a great opportunity to answer questions and provide information on all the different construction activities happening on the campus. Thanks to everyone who dropped by for a chat.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Unit one step closer
Construction is underway on a new purpose built Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Unit for young people aged 12-17.
Works are progressing on the external brickwork and the installation of internal services.
Construction is on track for completion later this year and the new facility will open following a commissioning period.
