Location

Queanbeyan is a city in the south-eastern region of NSW. It is located on the Queanbeyan River less than 15 km from Canberra. Considered a city with a country atmosphere, it has the identity of a commuter belt town for the Australian capital while also being a service centre for the surrounding agricultural and pastoral industries.

Getting there

The Queanbeyan region is around a 3-hour drive from Sydney and just 30 minutes from Canberra. 

Patient transfers and direct admissions

Southern's District Patient Flow Unit coordinates patient movements between hospitals in Southern NSW Local Health District, and to or from hospitals outside our district.

The unit manages transfers, coordinates conference calls between referring and accepting clinicians, confirms bed availability, and books patient transport so care is timely and safe.
