Governance and implementation
NSW Telco Authority (NSWTA) will lead the implementation and delivery of the NSW Digital Inclusion Strategy and NSW Digital Inclusion Action Plan. This will ensure a cost-effective, consistent and unified approach across NSW Government to reducing the state’s digital divide.
NSWTA will form and chair a cross-government working group to deliver the initiatives and report annually on implementation progress to the NSW Secretaries Board. For relevant initiatives, NSWTA will consider the compliance and risk management standards set by the policies AS ISO 31000:2018 and ISO 37301:2021.
Implementation of the action plan
Delivery of action plan initiatives is sequenced into 3 stages to maximise their impact.
- The immediate phase includes foundational initiatives and urgent actions that address critical gaps in digital inclusion. These initiatives can be delivered within 2 years.
- The mid-term phase includes initiatives that build on the initial improvements, targeting enhanced value for digitally excluded communities. These initiatives can be delivered in 2 to 3 years.
- The long-term phase aims to sustain and expand on the gains made in the previous two stages, including medium-term initiatives to further advance and solidify digital inclusion efforts. These initiatives can be delivered in 3 to 5 years.
This phased approach ensures that each stage supports the success of the previous one, creating a comprehensive and scalable plan for digital inclusion.
