Create your NESA Identity
Learn how to create and set up your NESA Identity (NESA ID) if you’re applying for teacher accreditation for the first time.
What you need to know
Your NESA ID will be used to sign in to eTAMS and NESA Learning, then other NESA websites in the future. eTAMS and NESA Learning are the first to switch to this new way of signing in. If you are finishing your study to be a teacher, are a teacher, or provide professional development courses for teachers you will need a NESA ID.
For security and privacy reasons your NESA ID is linked to you only.
Make sure you:
- keep your NESA ID username and password private
- use a personal email address (as your work email address may change)
- do not use a shared email address.
We recommend using a personal email address as your username to maintain access to your NESA ID even if you change schools, employers, services or organisations.
When creating your NESA ID, you will need:
- your name and date of birth
- an email address
- a password
- an Australian or New Zealand mobile number
- to setup 2-step verification to secure your NESA ID.
Create your NESA ID
Your NESA ID details are the same across all NESA services. Starting with eTAMS and NESA Learning, you will use your email address, a password, and an authentication code to access your accounts. We are working to add other services to NESA ID.
To create your NESA ID:
Click 'Create account'
Located just beneath the 'Continue' button.

Choose a username
We suggest a personal email as your username for continued NESA ID access across jobs.
Enter your account details
- Title
- First name
- Last name
- Date of birth
- Mobile number
Create a password
Verify your email address and mobile number
Continue to apply for accreditation
