Final year student data
NSW initial teacher education (ITE) providers supply final year student data to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). We use the data to help determine eligibility for Conditional or Provisional accreditation. ITE providers can request a copy of the template.
Sharing final year student data
As an ITE provider in NSW, you play a critical role in providing accurate final year student data to support their accreditation as teachers.
We use the data to help make accreditation decisions and provide advice on the subjects that graduates will be qualified to teach.
Accreditation
The data you provide helps NESA to determine whether students receive either Conditional or Provisional accreditation.
Conditional accreditation:
- is granted once a student has completed at least 75% of the total required credit points of an undergraduate teaching degree or 50% of the total required credit points of a postgraduate/graduate-entry teaching degree
- allows students to work as teachers while they complete their studies.
Provisional accreditation is granted when:
- the student successfully completes a recognised course of initial teacher education, and
- NESA receives a final transcript confirming degree completion and the conferral date.
Providing your data
We seek this data from you biannually. If you do not receive the email request for the data please email ite@nesa.nsw.edu.au to request a copy of the final year student data template.
