The 2023/24 Project Support Program (‘the Program’) has been created to administer projects that have been identified by the NSW Government and that fall within the portfolio of the Minister for Sport.

Program objective
The key objectives of the Program align to the Office of Sport Strategic Plan and include:
- improve participation in sport and active recreation, including under-represented or marginalised groups such as women and girls, people with disability, First Nations peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ people and those experiencing hardship, by catering to their diverse needs.
- support events that celebrate the achievements of a grassroots sport and active recreation club and/or association and its volunteers and participants.
This program is administered by Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport.

This project constructs and installs home (3) and away (3) change room shower cubicles at the community soccer club Lismore Thistles. This facility improvement supports the club's efforts to facilitate safe and diverse community participation in sport and seeks to reduce barriers to participation including for women and girls.

This is an inaugural, female only surfing competition at Woonona beach on 5 May 2024. To continue being held annually. For the advancement of women and female surfers in the Illawarra and south coast region of New South Wales. It will become an annual fixing for Surfing in Australia.

Approved for The Gurdwara Singh Sabha Society Griffith (NSW) Incorporated
Shaheedi Tournament is held every year on June long weekend, which attracts over 15,000 visitors to Griffith over 2 days. The 26th Shaheedi Tournament will be held on 8 and 9 June 2024, it will display over 100 teams and is expected to be attended by 15,000 to 20,000 spectators.

Now in its 14th year the Bobbin Head Cycle Classic (aka The Bobbo) is an annual community bike ride attracting up to 2500 riders. It is owned and managed by volunteers from five Rotary Clubs and raises funds for Lifeline and selected charities.
