About the Project

The Tallawong Reserve and Rosenthal Park Project will upgrade two existing parks – Tallawong Reserve in Blacktown and Rosenthal Park, in Doonside. The project will deliver improved play areas, pedestrian access, sport and picnic areas to foster an active lifestyle for residents of all ages. 

This project will contribute to the overall improvement of the local communities, providing and maintaining quality open and green spaces for the Blacktown community. This will increase visitation and utilisation of these assets, and significantly improve the current standard of living, creating a safer space that better meets the needs of the diverse community now and into the future.

Project Scope

Tallawong Reserve works:

  • New safer park entry
  • New paved areas for seating and picnic tables.
  • Footpath connection from new entry to Tallawong avenue shops
  • Realigned car park along Bibbalong Lane
  • Shade tree planting at entry and perimeter of oval.

Rosenthal Park works:

  • Resurfacing of multipurpose sports courts
  • Addition of new picnic areas and seating
  • New accessible pedestrian circuit path
  • Double row of tree planting to replace fencing on perimeter
  • Tree planting around existing shelters
