About the Project
The Wentworth Falls Dam and Lake Upgrade project will deliver improved access to quality recreation facilities supporting a diverse range of activities. The project includes the finalisation of a loop walk, construction of accessible fishing points, additional picnic facilities and kayaking entry points to improve access to the lake for recreational activities from local and Western Sydney visitors. The project also includes a road re-alignment and parking upgrades to enhance traffic management and pedestrian safety of this popular recreational precinct.
Project Scope
The project will include:
- Construction of boat ramp and linking pathways between staging area, boat ramp, amenities
- Dam and spillway upgrades including embankment works, new spillway stabilising walls, excavation and preparation of spillway apron foundation, placement of reinforced concrete slab
- Waratah Road and Sinclaire Cresent carpark works including stormwater infrastructure, footpath, kerb and guttering, and box culvert
- Approximate 1.5km of Loop Walk upgraded including post construction remediation and landscaping
- Pedestrian Bridge and Viewing Platform approximately 66m long across the Weir Spillway
- Recreation facilities including shared pathways, seating, tables and shaded areas, BBQ stands, outdoor gym, accessible fishing points, access points for canoeing where required, updated play areas where required, and Wayfinding signage.
