About the Project

The Campbelltown Arts Centre Expansion Project delivers an expanded facility that builds on existing strengths to meet the growing arts and cultural needs and desires of the community, while improving education opportunities and financial sustainability. The project delivers a new flexible theatre, galleries, community and workshops spaces, artist studios and improved dining for South West Sydney's premier cultural institution.

Project Scope

The project delivers:

  • Extension of existing building into the amphitheatre footprint: new flexible 320-seat theatre space, additional rehearsal spaces and increased gallery space
  • Redevelop existing internal floor plan
  • Expanded facilities including: additional workshop spaces, dedicated storage for artwork, permanent gallery space
  • Additional artist accommodation and studios
  • Café, retail shop and conference facilities
  • Additional gallery spaces on the second floor
  • Expansion of kitchen and café 
  • Six self-contained studio apartments to house visiting artists/other visitors
  • New energy efficient air-conditioning plant and additional solar panel
  • Car park with increased parking space
