About the Project
The Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink Roof & Amenities Upgrade Project will deliver a world class training facility, encourage national and state sporting events and provide a safe, enjoyable and affordable active recreational option for the local community.
Project Scope
- A new roof structure with solar panels
- Five multipurpose/change rooms
- Skate hire facilities, including storage for 600 pairs of skates, seating and lockers
- Concrete ice floor and barrier system
- Upgraded spectator seating areas

- Design and survey contractors have been appointed
- Preparatory meetings are being held with Canterbury Bankstown Council
- Architect is continuing to progress detailed design in preparation for Development Application submission
- Works to disconnect Ice Rink site from neighbouring Aquatic Centre site underway
Next steps
- DA submission to Canterbury Bankstown Council planned for mid-2024.
- Construction works to commence early-2025, pending Development Application approval.
- Completion early-2026.
