About the Project

The Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink Roof & Amenities Upgrade Project will deliver a world class training facility, encourage national and state sporting events and provide a safe, enjoyable and affordable active recreational option for the local community.

Project Scope

  • A new roof structure with solar panels
  • Five multipurpose/change rooms
  • Skate hire facilities, including storage for 600 pairs of skates, seating and lockers
  • Concrete ice floor and barrier system
  • Upgraded spectator seating areas

Timeline
Project Summary
  • Design and survey contractors have been appointed
  • Preparatory meetings are being held with Canterbury Bankstown Council
  • Architect is continuing to progress detailed design in preparation for Development Application submission
  • Works to disconnect Ice Rink site from neighbouring Aquatic Centre site underway
Next steps
  • DA submission to Canterbury Bankstown Council planned for mid-2024.
  • Construction works to commence early-2025, pending Development Application approval.
  • Completion early-2026.
