About the Project

The Hudson District Park East project transforms an under-utilised green space into a thriving community parkland. The project will deliver improvements to Hudson Oval and surrounds, a high intensity playground with junior mountain bike track, traffic improvements for park entry, a new pavilion with bookable viewing area, soundproofing through mounding, landscaping and path works and an upgraded underpass connecting to Hudson Park West. 

Project Scope

The project will include:

Hudson Park Upgrades

  • Centenary Drive & Arthur St traffic improvements 
  • Extension of left turn lane from Arthur St into Centenary Drive 
  • High intensity playground including fitness area and equipment, climbing area and interactive ball gaming
  • Upgrade of underpass

Hudson Park Oval

  • Installation of fencing
  • Upgrades to oval with irrigation and drainage systems 
  • Upgrade to sporting ground lighting 
  • Upgraded seating 
  • Renovation of centre wicket 

Hudson Park Pavilion

  • Renovation of the pavilion
  • Inclusion of female and male changerooms with accessible toilets
  • Council and stakeholder storage facilities
  • Second floor viewing area which will be available for the community to book 

Hudson Park Stage 3 upgrades and car park

  • Pathways to facilitate easier movement within the park
  • Installation of seating
  • Planting and landscaping
  • Sheltered area with BBQ
  • Passive area
  • Car park extension including demolition of driving range pro shop
