Dareton Police, Australian Medical Assistance Team (AUSMAT) and Far West local health district (LHD) have collaborated to swiftly deliver COVID-19 vaccines to Wentworth.

Far West Vaccination Clinic Coordinator, Donna Gers, and COVID-19 Clinical Coordinator, Samantha Elliott wrapped and packed the additional vaccines and hit the road with the precious cargo.
A request from our Wentworth Health Service Manager Kelly Dart to Dareton Police for a road escort was happily granted and a halfway meet was arranged. Dareton Primary Health Health Service Manager Trish Algate rode shotgun with Constable Zak Cranston, and the vaccine exchange took place at the Poplita rest area. This was about 145km between Broken Hill and Wentworth.
The AUSMAT team were in Dareton and Wentworth working with LHD staff to administer COVID-19 vaccinations. In 3 days they administered over 700 jabs.
We extend our thanks to everyone who involved in the vaccination roll out across Dareton, Wentworth and Balranald. We also thank community members for coming out to get vaccinated.
A fantastic effort all round.
