The Local Land Services Central West region covers 31,365 km2 and includes the major towns of Dubbo, Parkes, Condobolin and Coonabarabran. It stretches from the central west slopes region around Grenfell, Forbes and Wellington to the western plains of Nyngan and Coonamble.

Feed and water tests available

Local Land Services can provide free test kits to help farmers assess feed and water quality to plan feed budgets and manage livestock health.

Support for drought conditions

Drought conditions continue to expand across the Central West.

Further rainfall and a build-up of soil moisture is needed to provide certainty and support for winter cropping programs.

Monitor local conditions and be prepared to adjust your planning and management decisions, particularly around early weaning, stocking rates, feed availability and winter cropping.
