Return and Earn coming to Coles
From 2018, receive your 10 cent container refund at reverse vending machines at Coles supermarkets.
When reverse vending machines are rolled out at Coles supermarkets from January 2018, people will have three ways to receive their 10 cent refund:
- Cash refund
- In-store credit through a voucher at NSW Coles supermarkets
- Charity donation.
The rollout of Return and Earn locations continues, with reverse vending machines recently installed in Forster, Chinderah, Kingscliff, Cessnock, Bass Hill, Norris Park and Ingleburn.
More than eight million containers have been returned since the container deposit scheme started on 1 December. The busiest day of the week for people to return their drink containers is Sunday. A new record was set on Sunday, 17 December with over 692,000 returns.

No Return and Earn collection points will be open on Christmas Day.
