Rod Gilmour talks the future at Comms Connect 2014
Rod Gilmour, Chairperson of the Telco Authority Board, delivered the opening keynote address at the 2014 Comms Connect Conference on 18 June.
Speaking at the two-day event at the Australian Technology Park, Rod explored the central issues and challenges facing government operational telecommunications. He also discussed how government and industry can partner to build a sustainable future for NSW agencies and the communities they serve.
As part of the plan to meet these challenges, Rod outlined the Authority’s significant reform program. See the abridged version of his keynote presentation.
Following Rod’s address was a keynote by fellow board member and Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons, who presented on the value of communication networks in a public safety environment.
Running alongside the conference was an exhibition and a series of workshops held for industry professionals in the areas of advanced radio over IP, mobile broadband and LTE for critical communications.
