The Moree Historical Cemetery is a must-visit for historians and genealogists alike. Among the headstones are the graves of Edward Bulwer Lytton Dickens, the youngest son of renowned author Charles Dickens, along with many other figures of historical significance. Also laid to rest here are Mary Brand (née Geddes), the first European woman to settle in Moree, and her daughter Janet Elizabeth Williams, the first European child born in the town. Be sure to also visit nearby Mary Brand Park. To locate these headstones, look to the left after entering the main gate of the Moree Cemetery.
