Award-winning museum situated in a stunning heritage-listed art deco building. Featuring the permanent exhibition "Water By Design: The Leeton Water Story", the museum showcases the history of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area, its people, hardships, and successes in building Australia's food bowl.
Leeton Museum and Art Gallery takes pride in featuring emerging and local artists — a point of difference in the region. Achieving this is the main gallery, which hosts up to 10 exhibitions annually, including travelling exhibitions in Winter and Summer.
The Lands Office Cafe offers visitors great coffee and refreshments, and the museum's replica Roxy Theatrette allows visitors to relax and enjoy various short films about Leeton's history.
During school terms, the museum is open Wednesday and Thursday afternoons with movies showing for kids, and the cafe offers milkshakes and popcorn on those days.
