Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) announces the appointment of Ms Joanne Garlick as General Manager of Griffith Base Hospital.
“I’m delighted to announce this appointment as it promises a strong and experienced leader and a secure future for Griffith Base Hospital,” said MLHD Chief Executive Ms Ludford.
“Ms Garlick is an experienced health leader who has operationally managed our Hilltops Cluster for some years. She has demonstrated strong skills in operationalising strategic directions for the MLHD to improve patient experience and patient outcomes,” Ms Ludford said.
“Ms Garlick has excelled as interim General Manager since June 2022. During this time, she has introduced strong leadership to the facility and commenced staff forums which have been highly attended. She has also progressed the formal arrangements for Ophthalmology and Orthopaedic surgeries to be ongoing at Griffith Base Hospital."
Ms Garlick commenced with the MLHD in 2014 and has an excellent understanding of the Murrumbidgee region and the priorities of the organisation.
She has held a range of senior level management positions including Cluster Manager for the Young, Harden, Boorowa and West Wyalong Health Services.
Her skills and experience are strengthened by qualifications in Nursing, Health Science and Management.
Ms Garlick has commenced her role at Griffith Base Hospital and looks forward to working with the staff, the community and the redevelopment project team.
