Harden residents will soon be able to attend a new Beginners Tai Chi Class as part of Murrumbidgee Local Health District’s (MLHD) Active and Healthy program.
The new class will be held at the Hard Rock Gym on Wednesdays at 10am, starting Wednesday 2 August 2023.
Volunteer Tai Chi leader, Ros Stewart has recently attended training through the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) and Dr Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Institute and is looking forward to leading the class.
“Tai Chi is a great way to improve your balance and flexibility in a friendly, social setting. Everyone is welcome to come and join in!” said Ros.
MLHD Health Promotion Officer, Barb Manwaring said the class provides an opportunity for people who would like to be more active to come and try Tai Chi in a fun and friendly environment.
“We know the importance of regular physical activity to maintain good health, and this is a great chance for older community members to take part in a low cost, safe activity locally,” said Barb.
“It is an opportunity to come along and meet new people, and also have a social catch up after the class at the new Balance Bar.”
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. A gold coin contribution per session to assist with program running costs would be appreciated.
