Whether it be front of house customer service interactions, patient admissions, farewelling people who are ready to go home, or taking care of administrative duties for staff and patients, Peggy-Anne has got you covered.
Peggy began her career with MLHD over 12 years ago following a short stint as an interstate semi-trailer driver with her husband and accounts clerk for a large corporation in Melbourne.
Ready to live a more relaxed lifestyle with her family, horses and dogs, Peggy found the perfect job at Berrigan MPS as administration officer.
“People sometimes do not realise how rewarding and varied a role in administration is, because we do all kinds of things, including data reports, keeping track of inventory and stock, orders, accounts and customer service.
“I love how different each day can be, helping the staff and most of all I absolutely love our patients and residents.
“Simple things like just getting to meet people finally in person that you’ve spoken to on the phone for years can be a highlight of my day, finally putting a face to the voice and name and feeling like you already know each other."
Peggy’s philosophy is to treat people with kindness and to be that friendly face; because when it comes down to it, no one willingly wants to come to hospital.
“You get back what you give out in life, so I like to make a real effort to be reassuring for them. One kind word can change someone’s entire day for the better.
“I love our team of health professionals and I admire the skill of our nurses here. They are multi skilled – their roles can go from aged care to acute to emergency, all within the same day,” Peggy tells us.
“I love how close our team is and that we know our community and already have a bond with them. People here are always up for a chat, and I love that we have the time to do that.
“We honestly care about each other and go through the highs and lows of life together.
"We are a strong community support network and end up being the greatest friends,” Peggy said.
If you have ever wondered what it is like living and working in a regional area, Peggy has some words of advice.
“You’ll feel like you’re working with family in a great supportive environment, and you will have more time to enjoy the things you love."
