The Coag-19 Funding Program enables some MLHD hospitals to receive funding through the Council of Australian Governments (COAG), Improving Access to Primary Care in Rural and Remote Areas Initiative.
Funds raised by the hospital are given back to the hospital for special projects with the purpose of improving primary health care within their local communities.
Judith McGrath, Facility Manager for Tumbarumba MPS is exited to announce recent additions to the facility at Tumbarumba.
“This funding has enabled Tumbarumba MPS to facilitate the purchase of two new pieces of the latest medical equipment including a new Ultrasound Device as well as an ECG machine.
“The new Universal Smart EGC Machine is able to directly link with the Tumbarumba Medical Centre and its medical programs, increasing accuracy, efficiency and improves patient care and outcomes in real time,” said Ms McGrath.
“The new Ultrasound devise will be used in the emergency department for people who require urgent assessment and care,” said Ms McGrath.
“Even more exciting than new machines, we have been able to also allocate part of the COAG-19 funding to secure a physiotherapist to work with our aged care residents at Tumbarumba MPS and additional Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) locum coverage.”
“It is a real win for our community to have access to these additional funds through COAG-19,” said Ms Mcgrath.
