Our commitment to inclusion
Murrumbidgee LHD is actively committed to inclusion, and we:
- recognise patients with disability and respond to their needs.
- respect the individual’s abilities.
- empower the individual and their carer to take an active part in the planning and management of their care.
If you are experiencing difficulties accessing our services, let us know so we can work to make reasonable adjustments for you, and for anyone else you may experience similar barriers in the future.

Many of our services are also available through virtual care (telehealth) appointments. Learn more about virtual care in Murrumbidgee LHD.
We encourage everyone who uses our services to give feedback or contact us so that we can continue to improve.
Interpreter services
Patients, their families and carers—who are Deaf and/or do not speak English as a first language—have the right to free, confidential and professional interpreters when they use public health services.
If you need an interpreter for your health appointments, it is your healthcare provider's responsibility to book an interpreter for you.
Members of the public; including patients, their family, friends and carers, do not need to contact the NSW Health Care Interpreter Services (HCIS) to book an interpreter.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS (the scheme) provides funding and support to eligible people with disability, their families and carers; and connects them to services in their community.
The scheme also provides Australians under the age of 65 who have a permanent and significant disability with reasonable and necessary supports they need to enjoy an ordinary life.
Our staff are sometimes involved in helping patients and their carers put together the right information to apply for the NDIS and with preparing their NDIS plans.
Learn how the NDIS works and check if you are eligible to apply for support.
You can contact the NDIS in many ways:
- call 1800 800 110 or email enquiries@ndis.gov.au
- contact a NDIS office or Local Area Coordinator in Murrumbidgee LHD on 1800 522 679
- make an enquiry online using their contact or feedback form.
