“Working at a smaller, regional hospital like Lithgow has allowed me to get out of my comfort zone,” says Chloe, who currently works at the hospital’s emergency department.
“Working with amazing nurses and doctors with a wealth of knowledge has allowed me to really hone my nursing skills.”
Chloe began working at Lithgow Hospital in 2020 as an assistant in nursing, before commencing as a new graduate registered nurse earlier this year.
Her close connection to the hospital extends beyond Lithgow simply being her local community hospital; she was also born at Lithgow Hospital.
Chloe nominates the staff and teams as the greatest part of working at Lithgow Hospital.
“I love that I get to work with some of my family and friends. We support one another, even on the toughest shifts.”
“It’s also great to be able to walk outside and look at the stunning views we have here and know I’m never far from home,” Chloe adds.
Chloe says the close-knit community and deep connections to the hospital have made her career at Lithgow Hospital truly special and enhanced her passion for nursing.
“It’s a beautiful thing to be able to care for people’s loved ones when the times are crucial or near the end,” she says.
